Koala Admissions Surge at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital

Did you know that Koala admissions are the highest they’ve been in three years? There has been a 20% increase since 2022 due to many threats including natural disasters, vehicle strikes, habitat destruction, dog attacks and chlamydia.

Daniel the Koala Joey

Daniel the Koala, a feisty young 10-month-old male was brought into the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital on Boxing Day after the storm. He was rescued alone, from a fallen tree in Helensvale, with mum nowhere to be seen.
