Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary named Queensland’s Best Major Tourist attraction for 2022!
For the second year in a row Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has won the title of Queensland’s Best Major Tourism attraction, at the annual Queensland Tourism Industry Council awards.
The Queensland Tourism Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of the State's tourism industry, including individuals, businesses and events.
The awards were presented at a gala dinner held on the Gold Coast on Friday night.
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary was up against a number of high profile and deserving tourism attractions, including the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum of Natural History and the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame.
"This is a huge honour for everyone at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. So much hard work and dedication goes into making Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary the best Major Tourist Attraction in the State. This award is a direct reflection of our amazing staff and volunteers, as well as our loyal members and visitors and is even more special as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. We couldn’t do it without you.” - National Trust of Australia (Queensland) CEO Jayme Cuttriss.
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary will now go on to represent Queensland at the Australian Tourism Awards, in the Major Tourism Attraction category. The Australian Tourism Awards will be held in March 2023.
