Currumbin Wildlife Hospital’s Christmas Wishlist!
This Christmas, purchasing a Wishlist item for Currumbin Wildlife Hospital is an amazing gift that has an immediate difference on our wildlife patients and the vet staff that are saving them.
The humidicrib is just one Wishlist item that is vitally important for the survival of our small, vulnerable patients, like these orphaned squirrel gliders who don’t have their mum to keep them warm!
After their medical checks, they were kept in the humidicrib to stay warm and cosy. The humidicrib has various functions, including a nebulising attachment which is a game changer for Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, as it is a completely non-invasive way to provide treatment to our most vulnerable patients. Senior Vet at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, Dr Michael Pyne explains, “Most of our patients at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital are under 250 grams, so the humidicrib is constantly in use.”
This is just one example of Wishlist items making a difference to wildlife at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. But there are still so many other pieces of vital medical equipment needed to keep treating and saving local wildlife.
At the top of Currumbin Wildlife Hospital’s Wishlist is an Endoscope Telepack used during endoscopic procedures that look inside a patient using a thin tube with a tiny camera inside, which is essential for the treatment of some of our small patients.
Another much-needed item is a pair of Binocular loupes, which provides veterinary staff with better vision during surgery on small patients. As a vet, having the best vision possible is everything!
Staff and volunteers need vital equipment to continue their life-saving work.
Even the smallest donation can make a huge difference.
All donations are 100% tax deductible, and recognition of your donation will be attached to the equipment purchased.
