Meet Our Bees!

It is Pollinators Week 6 to 14 November, 2021

Australian Pollinator Week ( acknowledges our important and unique insect pollinators during spring. Over 75% of the world’s flowering plants are pollinated by insects. However globally, pollinator species are under threat – which puts many of our favourite foods at risk.

Here at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, our Education Team are lucky enough to be bringing the beautiful Honeyworld facility into their lesson spaces in the new year.  Within this area, they will be able to further explore the amazing role that pollinators have on the survival of our planet, and how we can ensure we are choosing best practices to assist in their long-term survival.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary celebrates the many forms of pollinators, with bats, stingless and native bees, cassowaries and many other seed dispersing birds on display at the Sanctuary.  Keep an eye on our website for exciting new programs and courses coming in 2022 focused on bees and pollinators.

Want to learn how you can help our pollinators now? Check out our Youtube video all about the bees here at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary at Meet our Bees! | Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary - YouTube or children can join our “Wildlife Friendly Backyards” during our school holiday program Wild Adventures in January 2022.  Booking available through our website.
