Currumbin Wildlife Hospital’s annual Open Day - a huge success!
Hundreds of visitors took the opportunity to go behind the scenes and access areas usually closed to the public on Saturday the 26th of August 2023.
Guests explored the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, watching on as veterinary staff and volunteers treated and rehabilitated sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife.
The face painting, raffles and giveaways were also a huge hit!
All proceeds from the open day will go back into the hospital so staff and volunteers can continue their vital work.
“Our Open Day is an opportunity for the community to see the important work we do and how their donations are put into action to save our amazing wildlife.
It was great to see so many people come along, enjoy a day out, and learn about what they can do to help protect our local wildlife.” –
Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Senior Vet Dr Michael Pyne OAM.
Currumbin Wildlife Hospital has been saving our precious wildlife since 1989!
It’s now one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world, admitting more than 14,000 patients last year alone, including more than 400 Koalas!
