We Weathered the Storm!

Now that the extra challenging couple of weeks are behind us, we are excited for a new year of saving wildlife.

We are grateful to have you along for the journey in 2024 and thank you for your incredible support.

Our vet team is so appreciative for your assistance during the recent devastating storms that tore through the Gold Coast.

Fortunately, Currumbin Wildlife Hospital was able to remain open throughout the storm and subsequent power outage.

We’d like to extend our thanks to everyone who helped us innovate with fans, generators, and work lamps.

Not only did the staff and volunteers have to save existing patients with no electricity, there was also a huge influx of sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife due to the storms.

Save Our Patients

As one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world, it is important that the doors remain open for wildlife treatment & rehabilitation under all circumstances.

If having no power during the storm wasn’t enough, the team also saw 120 new patients admitted on one day alone.

There was everything from baby birds affected by the storm to koalas that had been in fallen trees.

It was an incredible team effort and we’re so grateful that our volunteers were able to help us handle reception, food prep, deliver food for staff and so much more.

We’re also so lucky that Wildcare was able to assist with the washing while handling their other important roles.

A huge thank you also to our community for delivering generators and donating money for vital equipment.

Thank you to all the heroic people who care about our native wildlife.

Please donate to make an immediate difference to 14,000 plus sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife treated at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital every year.
