Save the Koala Month!
Every month should be Save the Koala Month! We’re so appreciative of our community for coming together to put the spotlight on this species in desperate need.
Save the Koala Day on the 30th of September is a fantastic time to band together to save this species. The team at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital know how to save Koalas, they just need your support to do the work!
This Save the Koala Month holds even more significance now that Koalas are endangered in QLD, NSW, and the ACT. It’s hard to believe that Australia’s most iconic animal is under threat. Chlamydia is one of the key threats and can affect male, female and infant Koala joeys.
Goldie the female Gold Coast Koala is one of the recent patients at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital that has been affected by chlamydia. It costs an average of $7000 and 6 weeks of treatment to save a Koala from this disease.
We can join forces to rewrite history and chances are if you’re reading this, you are willing and ready to make a difference. Please give generously this Save the Koala Month.
