We Love Avocado!
Meet Avocado the Black Flying Fox who was sadly orphaned and admitted to Currumbin Wildlife Hospital for urgent treatment.
We’re so grateful for the caring community member who reported this orphaned bat and the amazing wildlife carers involved.
Can you see in the photo that Avocado has a dummy? Bats are given dummies to make them feel as though they are with their Mum – how cute!
We hope Avocado has a swift recovery, especially because bats are crucial to our ecosystem as long-distance pollinators of eucalyptus.
Please note that only vaccinated professionals can touch bats, please call Currumbin Wildlife Hospital if you see a sick, injured or orphaned flying fox.
