Gold Coast's Most Unique Wedding Venue
Six reasons to say "I do" at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Voted the Number 1 Unique Wedding Venue at the 2019 and 2020 Bride’s Choice Awards, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary delights in bringing the most unforgettable celebrations to life. As a silver ABIA Appointed Wedding Venue, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the perfect place to throw the most talked-about wedding of the year. Here are six reasons why!
1. LOCATION, LOCATION
The setting sun will be a perfect backdrop to your ceremony and fairy lights will flicker in our ancient trees, bringing a new magic to the already stunning natural beauty of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. There are so many different outdoor event spaces across 27 hectares, including open-feel grassy areas, stunning waterfalls, lakes and beautiful decks overlooking our iconic grounds. Our world class in-house chefs can provide canapés or a sit-down dinner in any location you’d like to enjoy.
Just six minutes’ drive from the Gold Coast Airport, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is in a central location, surrounded by a wide variety of accommodation. We are located just 200 metres from the beach, so you don’t have to choose between the Sanctuary’s sub-tropical surrounds or the ocean as a backdrop for your wedding photos – you can have both!
2. A WEDDING WITH A CONSCIENCE
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a not-for-profit organisation. When you celebrate your special day with us, you are contributing to the upkeep of the Sanctuary. We protect and preserve some of the most unique and beautiful creatures in the world so they can be enjoyed for generations to come.
3. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s events team loves to turn your wildest imaginings into reality! Simply describe your dream wedding and your budget, and we’ll do the rest! From pin-pointing a specific location at the Sanctuary for your ceremony, to snapping photos with an animal you love, if you have an idea of how to personalise your wedding, we can work with you to bring your vision to life.
4. SAY “I DO” IN A FREE-FLIGHT AVIARY
Imagine saying your vows surrounded by colourful exotic birds, free flying amidst stunning rainforest and waterfalls. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s Lost Valley is available for a truly unforgettable, intimate ceremony, with capacity for up to 60 people.
One of the largest free-flight aviaries in the Southern Hemisphere, Lost Valley will transport you back to pre-historic times. It is home to Ring-tailed Lemurs and more than 300 species of unique flora and fauna. Macaws, Eclectus Parrots and Emerald Doves will soar over your wedding guests, making the experience truly magical.
5. ANIMAL GUESTS
Create a wedding album like no other by inviting one of our animal ambassadors to join you on your special day. Smile with Marrock the Dingo, pose with a barking owl, feel the love while you cuddle a Koala or enjoy a photo shoot in our rustic kangaroo enclosure. Our events team will ensure that the creatures you love play a role in your special day.
To ensure our animals are content throughout the experience, members of our wildlife team will be on hand, looking after the welfare of these VIP guests.
6. AN ICONIC ENTRY
Our famed miniature railway can transport you and your guests through our beautiful Sanctuary and back in time. Built in 1964, the train is a piece of history and is the perfect way to set the mood for your special day as it journeys through our sprawling native flora and fauna to the destination where celebrations will begin.
Events at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary support our not-for-profit efforts that work to fight extinction through conservation and research projects.
