General Conditions of Entry

These Conditions of Entry apply to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (the Sanctuary), located at 28 Tomewin Street, Currumbin Qld 4223 and operated by National Trust of Australia (Queensland) Limited (the Company).

In these Conditions of Entry, “Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary” and “Sanctuary” includes the owner and operator of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and all Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary staff.

These Conditions of Entry are subject to Government and other regulatory legislation, health orders, directions and mandates that require compliance by law.

Admission price includes all presentations, shows and attractions, except food, merchandise, photo sessions, encounters, TreeTop Challenge or pay per use facilities.

Published times of shows or attractions may vary. No guarantees are made that any advertised or regular attractions will be available or operating.

The operation of some attractions may be affected by adverse weather conditions or maintenance activity, and unavailable without notice.

Children 13 years and under are not permitted to enter the Sanctuary, or any attraction within the Sanctuary, unless accompanied and supervised by a person 18 years of age or older.

No commercially prepared food or beverages may be brought into Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.

No alcohol or drugs of any type shall be bought on to the premises and you may be refused entry or evicted if we reasonably believe that you are in possession of, or adversely affected by, drugs or alcohol.

No glassware or sharp objects may be brought on to the premises.

Due to quarantine requirements, no animals are permitted within the park, with the exception of properly trained guide, hearing or assistance dogs or trainee support dogs certified under the Guide, Hearing and Assistance Dog Act 2009 (Qld) (Assistance Dog). We may require that a person seeking to enter the Sanctuary with an Assistance Dog provides verification or proof of identity as permitted under that Act. For example, we may request your identity card.

Scooters, skateboards, bicycles, roller blades or other equipment that the Sanctuary considers, in its sole discretion, may interfere with pedestrian traffic or animal welfare are not permitted.

Novelty items such as balloons, party decorations, devices with lighting or sound effects, personal media players or speakers and any other item that is identified as a potential welfare risk to animals or guests, or that would interfere with guests’ enjoyment of the Sanctuary (at the Sanctuary’s sole discretion), are not permitted inside the park.

All designs, systems, symbols, logos, and other intellectual property appearing on this website and in relation to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the intellectual property of the Company (or property of a third party and licensed to the Company) and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. You must not infringe those rights.

Vehicles are parked at or around the Sanctuary at your own risk. The Company will not be responsible for any loss of, or damage to, any vehicle, accessory, or contents in, or on any vehicle.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a smoke free environment inside the park. Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes and vapes, is permitted in designated areas only. No food or beverage may be consumed in or around designated smoking areas under Queensland law.

The Company reserves the right to refuse entry or remove guests from the Sanctuary for vandalism, stealing, offensive or violent behaviour (including obscene language), queue line jumping, failure to properly supervise persons under your care, failure to follow safety instructions, failure to follow directions of Sanctuary staff, or failure to comply with these Conditions of Entry. Such actions may result in immediate eviction from the venue without a refund. Additional action may include police involvement and/or a venue ban.

The Company reserves the right to inspect your bags at any time for security purposes.

Any photographs, videos or sound recordings taken by you must be for personal use only. Any use, reuse, or production for commercial purposes without our express written consent is strictly prohibited. You must not take any photographs, videos or sound recordings of people inside Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (especially children) without their prior permission (or the permission of their legal guardian if the person is a child), unless that person is included in any photograph, video or sound recording inadvertently (for example, in the background of a photo).

The Company reserves the right to photograph or video guests (including via CCTV) at any time while at the Sanctuary for our legitimate security purposes. By entering the Sanctuary, you acknowledge and consent to your image and other personal information being collected for that purpose. For further information on how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information, please see our Privacy Policy located on our website.

The Company may also take photos of guests from time to time, for use in connection with the promotional activities and general commercial operations of the Company. By entering the Sanctuary, you expressly consent to the use of your image and likeness for our promotional and commercial purposes without compensation.

The use of image recording devices (including the recording of video and audio) is not permitted in any change room or bathroom facility. Please report any incidents to staff immediately.

Tickets, vouchers, and passes to the Sanctuary must be original and valid (i.e., not expired). Photo identification and matching signatures may be required on request to verify the validity of any ticket, voucher, pass or purchase. Attempts at fraudulent entry to the Sanctuary (including the presentation of a fraudulent ticket, voucher, or pass) may result in refusal of entry and will be referred to police.

Guests may not display anything that contains obscene, foul, profane, illegal, or unacceptable language, photos, images, symbols, or phrases, in the sole discretion of the Sanctuary. If your clothing or swimwear does not comply with these regulations, appropriate attire is available for purchase at Natures Gifts Shop. If you are unable to locate appropriate attire, you may be refused entry or evicted from the Sanctuary.

Please do not leave your bags or belongings unattended.

Please be advised that appropriate footwear must be worn at all times on Sanctuary grounds.

General Ticket Conditions

E-tickets are non-refundable and cannot be transferred.

Experience Pass holders must book TreeTop Challenge times prior to arrival and after purchase on 07 5661 9038.

We recommend that you check promotions for redemption dates.

Prices are subject to change without notice due to any changes in government charges, taxes, or levies. All prices in AUD and include GST.

Tickets can only be purchased through this web site by using a major credit card. Your credit card will be debited at the time of ordering.

All credit card purchases are made through the Westpac Bank secure payment facility. The service uses a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol that was developed to protect confidential information such as credit card numbers and other financial data from interception and hacking. In the unlikely event that you believe any unauthorised use of your credit card has occurred, please immediately notify us by email and contact your bank directly. We do not have any control over the security of online purchases, and do not accept any liability for loss resulting from such transactions.

Handle your e-ticket as you would cash. Be cautious if someone offers to sell you this document – it has no official resale value and may be an unauthorised copy.

Lost, damaged, or stolen tickets cannot be replaced.

General admission tickets are valid for entry during normal park operating hours only (excludes after hours events).

Concession tickets may be available for pensioners, students, and seniors upon presentation of valid ID. We may require you to present physical evidence of identification (and may not accept electronic identification, including a photo of such identification).

Upon completion of purchase, you will be emailed an e-ticket.

Entry only granted on presentation of printed or digitally displayed e-ticket.

Valid photo ID and credit card used for purchase may be required to validate the authenticity of a purchase.

E-tickets can only be used once.

General Admission Tickets

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary E-tickets are valid for the date selected at the online checkout (this will be displayed on your confirmation and master ticket emailed to your nominated email address) unless otherwise stated. Changes can be made to the selected date within 12 months of original purchase date. All E-tickets are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. Tickets cannot be on-sold to another party for re-sale (special circumstances may be reviewed under Management discretion).

Government issued pension card must be provided on entry to receive concession price.

You will receive an email including your invoice and your E-ticket. Entry is granted by presenting, a printed E-ticket or displayed on a mobile device.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary reserve the right to close exhibits, shows and attractions as required without notice.

Unless expressly stated to the contrary tickets do not include access to special events conducted outside of advertised park trading hours.

Tickets do not include experiences and attractions that are not included in entry price.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary visitor numbers are capped to prevent overcrowding. Entry is on a first come, first served basis. When Sanctuary reaches capacity, we cannot permit further entries.

Check all ticket specials for redemption dates. Some promotions do not have a one-year validity.

Membership Passes

Current membership card and photo ID must be presented upon each visit.

Membership entry is not valid for special events (including events held outside of the Sanctuary’s regular or advertised operating hours) unless otherwise stated – an additional fee may apply to attend those events.

Membership subscription is payable 12 months in advance and is non-transferable.

A membership renewal offer will be forwarded prior to the expiry date of the current membership. You must accept that offer and pay the annual membership price to continue being a member.

National Trust of Australia (Queensland) Limited is a company limited by guarantee. Our Constitution provides that in the most unlikely event National Trust of Australia (Queensland) Limited is unable to pay its debts on winding up, its current members would each be liable to pay, as a guarantee, a maximum sum of $5.00. We are therefore required to inform you that in becoming a member, you accept this obligation.

Discounted membership fees may be available for pensioners, students and seniors. You must provide us with a copy of your Government issued concession card to receive discounted concession member rates.

Responsibility

There are inherent risks in attending the Sanctuary, including the participation on an amusement ride, or activity at the Sanctuary.


You, by entering the Sanctuary and participating in those amusement activities, accept the inherent risks of which a reasonable person is or should be aware.

Adults are responsible for minors under their supervision.

You must not participate in or on any amusement ride or activity, when under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

You must act with good judgement and consideration, both for yourself and others, and to refrain from behaviour which could affect your safety, or the safety of others.

You must obey all written and verbal instructions and warnings given by Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary staff and volunteers including the operators of any ride, activity, or interaction with animals, without objection.

You must use, as instructed all safety equipment provided when participating in any ride or activity.

You are responsible for your own personal property. The Sanctuary does not accept any responsibility or liability if your personal property is stolen or damaged.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary takes all reasonable steps to provide you with a safe and enjoyable attraction experience. However, to the maximum extent permitted by law, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary excludes all liability in respect of any loss of or damage to the personal property of, or the loss of life or personal injury to, any person, whether that loss, damage or personal injury is caused by any persons negligence (including the negligence of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and its  officers, directors, agents and employees) or otherwise. This exclusion of liability does not apply to liability that cannot by law be contracted out of, for example, because of the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2) to The Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)).

Health and Height Advice

Height and age restrictions may apply to some activities and attractions.

Further specific restrictions may be displayed throughout the Wildlife Sanctuary and must be adhered to.

For safety reasons, minimum height restriction of 140cm and minimum age restriction of 12 years is required to hold a koala.

Minimum age requirement varies for animal encounters and should be reviewed before purchasing.

Conditions for Feeding Animals

The feed we provide to feed our birds or animals may contain traces of milk and nuts.

All birds and animals can carry diseases which may be transmitted to people, please ensure you wash your hands with soap and water after handling animals and before eating or drinking.

Some people are more at risk of illness, such as the young and elderly, or people who are or have recently been sick. Please exercise caution if you fall into those categories.

Pregnant woman should not feed wild birds.

Adults must supervise children under 13 at all times.

Wear a hat and long sleeve shirt to prevent scratches when feeding birds.

While the Sanctuary takes reasonable care to ensure your safety while feeding animals, the Sanctuary excludes all liability relating to loss or injury resulting from interaction with the animals to the maximum extent permitted by law. Please stay behind the fence while feeding animals.

You must only feed animals the animal feed that is dispensed by the Sanctuary for consumption by the animals, and as instructed by staff. 

Animal Encounter Conditions

Age restrictions apply and vary between encounters.

In the event of inclement weather, suitable attire should be worn or purchased from the retail outlets.

As you are going into operational areas, we do not permit stroller access. Please advise us if you use a wheelchair or walking aid, and we will do our best to accommodate those requirements.

As you are entering a behind the scenes precinct, no personal photography will be permitted.

A person may not physically touch or place any other object or item through the wire of enclosures, unless invited and supervised by a qualified Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary staff member.

The tour may be cancelled due to reasons beyond the Company’s control to ensure the safety of guests and animals. Tour refunds will be available in this case.

You will be going into areas of the Sanctuary that are not normally accessed by guests. As such, you must stay with your guide and obey all instructions as given. Failure to do so may result in the tour being suspended or cancelled.

TreeTop Challenge

TreeTop Challenge is designed to be more challenging as you move through the 3 levels. You are welcome to take a break at the end of any course if you wish.

The TreeTop Challenge courses have been designed for children and adults alike for family fun, fitness, and team building. Participants must be able to comfortably reach 160cm (with arms above head) to enter. To measure yourself or a child, stand with flat feet on the ground and raise arms above head with hands outstretched. Measure from the ground to the middle of the palm of the hand. To continue to the advanced black Course, participants must be able to reach 180cm.

Children under 18 require a parent/adult to sign the consent form (this is a requirement of entry to the TreeTop Challenge). It is recommended that children 14 years and under are supervised by an adult throughout TreeTop Challenge.

The TreeTop Challenge activity will require you to conquer your fear of heights and is suitable only for persons physically and mentally able to sustain a minimum of physical exertion and stress.

TreeTop Challenge is not recommended to pregnant women, people with brittle bones, heart problems, epilepsy, high blood pressure or any other adverse medical condition.

The equipment provided (gloves, harnesses, helmets, ropes, and pulleys) is checked daily by staff and must be used according to the instructions given. All items of safety clothing must be worn at all times during your participation in the TreeTop Challenge. 

Closed in shoes must be worn to participate in the activities.

Long hair must be tightly tied back.

School Holiday Program Entry Conditions

In consideration of, and as a condition of my child’s participation in Wild Adventures and Bee Workshop School Holiday Experience. I hereby:

  1. Warrant that my child is medically fit (including physically and mentally) to participate in the Wild Adventures School Holiday Experience (the Program) and/or Bee Workshop Experience (the Program);
  2. Agree that my child will participate in the Program at their own risk, and I acknowledge that Wild Adventures and Bee Workshop School Holiday Experience activities involve animal food, animal feeding including the possibility of entering restricted feeding areas, animal handling and/or physical contact, train rides and viewing of shows and exhibits that are potentially risky and dangerous and may result in personal injury and/or death to participants;
  3. Agree that my child will abide by the rules and conditions of the Program including those in any literature or verbal or written instructions;
  4. Waive, release and discharge to the maximum extent permitted by law, all and any claim, right or cause of action howsoever arising, whether or not presently ascertained, immediate, future, or contingent, which I may otherwise have for or arising out of loss of my child’s life or injury, damage or loss of any description whatsoever and howsoever caused which my child may suffer or sustain in the course of or consequent upon their participation in the Program;
  5. Indemnify against any claim, right or cause of action however arising whether or not presently ascertained, immediately, future or contingent which I or anyone else may have for or arising out of loss of my child’s life or injury, damage or loss of any description whatsoever and howsoever caused which they may suffer or sustain in the course of or consequent upon my participation in the Program, to the maximum extent permitted by law;
  6. Agree that the waiver, release and discharge contained in paragraph 4 above and the indemnity contained in paragraph 5 above shall operate in favour of the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) Limited and its employees, assigns, sponsors, agents, officers, directors and related bodies corporate (as that term is defined in the Corporations Act), each the “released persons”, and shall so operate whether or not the loss, injury or damage is due or attribute to an act, neglect or omission of any one or more of the released persons, to the maximum extent permitted by law; and
  7. Agree that the waiver, release, and discharge contained in paragraph 4 above and the indemnity contained in paragraph 5 above may be pleaded as a complete bar to any claim, notice, demand, action, proceeding, litigation, or judgment which has or may be brought or made or recovered against any or each of the released persons.
  8. May participate in a Honey World excursion (on Frogs and Mini Beasts days only), which is located across the road from the Sanctuary. My child will be supervised by Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary staff at all times, including while crossing the road at the pedestrian crossing.
    I understand that my child:
  • Will be supervised by Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary staff during session times.
  • Will interact with Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary staff.
  • Will interact with live animals including physical contact.
  • Will undertake activities involving animal food and feeding, train rides and  the viewing of shows and exhibits (animal food and Sanctuary surroundings may contain allergens).

Please note: Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary staff will not be responsible for the administration of any medication. Information is required in case of an incident requiring first aid or other medical attention. Should your child require medication during their time at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, please ensure that your child is aware of the dosage and how to administer appropriately.

Failure to disclose any medical conditions may result in your child being excluded from activities up to and including being sent home. This is for their health and safety while in our care.

Promotional & Prize Vouchers

Promotional and prize vouchers may be used for General Admission only.

General Admission & Experience Vouchers must be used on the same day as they were issued.

General Admission & Experience Vouchers will not be replaced if lost.

Entrants with promotional and prize vouchers will need to check in at the Visitor & Members Services office on arrival.

No change will be given for amounts remaining on any voucher.

Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.

Not redeemable for cash.

This voucher cannot be sold.

TreeTop Challenge is not included.

On Ya Bike for Wildlife e-bike Christmas Raffle 2024 - Terms and Conditions

  • The raffle prize is a FatFish Fat Tyre ebike, worth 2,499 AUD.  

  • Competition Starts: Friday 15 November 2024. Competition Ends: 05:00am QLD TIME 23 December 2024. 
  • Each raffle ticket equals 1 entry to the competition. 1 entrant may have multiple entries buy purchasing multiple raffle tickets. There are a maximum of 11,250 tickets available to buy. 
  • You must be over 18 and a resident of Australia to enter. 
  • The competition will be drawn by 2PM (AEST) on Monday 23rd December, and the winner chosen at random will be contacted prior to 5pm (AEST) on that day via phone or email. 
  • The ticket holder can redeem the prize from 9am (QLD TIME) Tuesday 24 December 2024. The bike will be available for pick up from Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary during our usual operating hours.  Photo ID will be required on pick up when redeeming the e-bike.

  • The bike must be picked up from Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, or shipped, by no later than 31 January 2025.
