Ring-Tailed Lemur Conservation

An unmistakeable animal from Madagascar, they are listed as endangered. In fact Lemurs are the most endangered mammal group in the world. The primary threat is loss of habitat but they are also harvested for food and the illegal pet trade. When you add natural predation as a further threat then you can see why they are endangered.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is helping to maintain a sustainable and genetically strong captive population for many years into the future.
