Sanctuary Maintenance :: Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

PARK CLOSURE WEDNESDAY 05/03/2025 TO THURSDAY 13/03/2025

Due to tropical cyclone Alfred, we have unfortunately had to close the Wildlife Sanctuary, for the safety of our guests, staff and animals. If all goes well, we hope to reopen the park on Friday 14th March.

Please do not travel to the Wildlife Sanctuary.

If you have pre-purchased General Admission tickets to the Sanctuary, you can use these on any other day. No need to contact us.
If you have tickets booked for Astra Lumina or an animal encounter, our team will contact you to help you rebook. Due to the volume of rebookings this may take a few days and we appreciate your patience.

We will have a team of critical wildlife keepers working during this period to ensure the safety of all our resident animals.

When we re-open the Sanctuary, there may be some areas of the park that are not accessible immediately, due to storm damage. Please be assured we are working to reopen the whole Sanctuary as quickly and safely as possible, and we appreciate your support during this challenging time.

Thank you for your understanding as we monitor this extreme weather event. We will provide further updates where possible.

We are currently improving Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary with new and exciting developments underway.

The following attractions have planned closures over the coming weeks:

The Land of Parrots aviary (map ref. S10) is temporarily closed.
The Homestead is open for lunch for guests visiting every Friday through to Sunday. During school holidays, extended opening hours will be available.
Weekly track maintence every Wednesday until 11.30am except during Queensland school holidays. No trains operate during this time. After that, trains operate per usual schedule until 4pm.
Weekly cleaning and maintenance is undertaken on the Wild Island Splash Zone every Thursday until 11:00am.
