We are currently improving Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary with new and exciting developments underway.

The following attractions are currently closed to receive some maintenance over the coming weeks:

  • To celebrate the last week of our iconic steam train's 60th anniversary, the steam train runs daily from 26th - 29th July. There will be no other trains running during these days due to essential works.
  • Natures Gift will be closed from 22nd July to 29th August 2024 due to shop upgrades. There will be a temporary pop-up shop at the front entrance area of the Sanctuary Café, where guests can purchase or reprint photos, and get a digital upload. This will also be the temporary pickup location for Koala Photos and Animal Experience photos.
  • All trains will be shut down from 29th July to 12th August due to essential track works and crossing upgrades.
  • Weekly cleaning and maintenance is undertaken on the Wild Island Splash Zone every Thursday until 11:00am.
  • Weekly essential maintenance is conducted on the Currumbin Railway network on every Wednesday* until 11:30am. Trains operate all afternoon on a Wednesday following this maintenance until 4:00pm.

*except during Queensland school holidays
