Aussie Wildlife Course

The Aussie Wildlife Course is an introductory course developed to train enthusiastic members of our community to provide emergency care for sick, injured or orphaned native wildlife.

Age Requirement: 14 years and over with parent consent

This course is conducted as an 8 week evening course or a weekend condensed course

Advanced Aussie Wildlife Course

Following on from the Aussie Wildlife Course comes the new Advanced Course, presented by Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s veterinarians and hospital staff. Using the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital facilities, the advanced course will explore the unique anatomy and physiology of Australia’s wildlife.

Age Requirement: 16 years and over with parent consent

This course is conducted as a 4 week evening course

Insight into Vet Nursing

Ever wanted to know what it’s like to walk in the shoes of a veterinary nurse? Maybe you are considering a career change, looking to become a vet nurse, or are simply interested in the daily operations of this field. This course provides an insight into the role of a vet nurse, and their importance in ensuring injured or ill animals are returned to their healthy state.

Looking at a multiple species, participants will learn about the basic anatomy and physiology of our most beloved Australian natives and what to do if you find an injured animal while you get it to qualified medical help. This hands on and engaging course will leave you empowered with knowledge about our local animals.

Animal Training and Conditioning

Training helps keeps animals minds healthy and active. This course will help you learn the fundamentals of general animal training, operant training techniques and how to teach desired behaviours from animals in your care. Every animal and species is different in their training needs, which will be explored in this course. Leave with skills to try with your own pets and animals.
