Aussie Wildlife Course

The Aussie Wildlife Course is an introductory course developed to train enthusiastic members of our community to provide emergency care for sick, injured or orphaned native wildlife. This course is conducted as an 8 week evening course or a weekend condensed course. Age Requirement: 14 years and over with parent consent

Advanced Aussie Wildlife Course

Following on from the Aussie Wildlife Course comes the new Advanced Course, presented by Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s veterinarians and hospital staff. Using the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital facilities, the advanced course will explore the unique anatomy and physiology of Australia’s wildlife. This course is conducted as a 4 week evening course

Age Requirement: 16 years and over with parent consent. Must have completed the Aussie Wildlife course or have prior experience.

  • Venue: Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary - Wildlife Hospital
  • 4 week course, held on a Thursday evening from 6pm - 8:30pm

Insight into Vet Nursing

Ever wanted to know what it is like to walk in the shoes of a vet nurse? Maybe you are considering a career change, looking to become a vet nurse, or are interested in the operations of a veterinary hospital. This course is presented by qualified vets and vet nurses and provides an insight into the role of a vet nurse, and their importance in caring for animals. This course is conducted as an 8 week evening course. Age Requirement: 14 years and over with parent consent

  • Venue: Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary - Wildlife Hospital
  • 8 week course, held on a Wednesday evening from 6pm - 8:30pm
  • Dates to be confirmed for 2021.

Reptile and Amphibian Captive Management

The Reptile and Amphibian Captive Management Course is designed for those with a keen interest in seeking knowledge and understanding of Reptiles and Amphibian Identification, legislation and relevant government bodies, basic taxonomy, captive-husbandry needs and maintenance, health, nutrition and reproduction of reptiles.

Study Guide and certification upon completion of the course.

  • 2 day course (full weekend 9am - 4:30pm each day)
