Aussie Wildlife Course

The Aussie Wildlife Course is an introductory course developed to train enthusiastic members of our community to provide emergency care for sick, injured or orphaned native wildlife.

Age Requirement: 14 years and over with parent consent

This course is conducted as an 8 week evening course or a weekend condensed course

Advanced Aussie Wildlife Course

Following on from the Aussie Wildlife Course comes the new Advanced Course, presented by Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s veterinarians and hospital staff. Using the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital facilities, the advanced course will explore the unique anatomy and physiology of Australia’s wildlife.

Age Requirement: 16 years and over with parent consent

This course is conducted as a 4 week evening course

Insight into Vet Nursing

Ever wanted to know what it is like to walk in the shoes of a vet nurse? Maybe you are considering a career change, looking to become a vet nurse, or are interested in the operations of a veterinary hospital. This course is presented by qualified vets and vet nurses and provides an insight into the role of a vet nurse, and their importance in caring for animals.

Australian Mammals: Our Backyard Buddies

This program teaches basic anatomy and physiology of Australian native mammals. Led by our Mammal Supervisor and Koala Specialist, students also learn how to look after injured animals. This hands-on and engaging course will leave you empowered with knowledge about our mammals.

Animal Training and Conditioning

Animal training has many benefits, including providing physical and mental stimulation for animals in our care. This course helps you learn the fundamentals of animal training, operant training techniques and teaching desired behaviour. Our Exotics Wildlife Supervisor will explore the training needs of different animals and leave you with skills to try with your own pets

Cooking On Country: Food Adventure
