Our Scaly Reptile Friends
Join the Animal Encounters team and explore the world of our scaly reptile friends. This hands-on experience is designed to get our younger guests up close and personal with reptiles, not only found in our own back yard, but from as far as the other side of the world! Hear stories of how reptiles have roamed the earth for millions of years and how they have adapted to live alongside us today. See some of our scaly critters up close while you hold a lizard, pat a snake and feed a critically endangered exotic tortoise.

Children must be over the age of 6+ years, Children under the age of 12 must have a full paying parent or guardian accompanying on the encounter
As you are going into operational areas, no strollers access. Wheelchairs or walking aids may be accommodated with prior discussion
Appropriate enclosed footwear must be worn. No high heels
In the event of inclement weather, suitable attire should be worn or purchased from the retail outlets
A person may not physically touch an animal or place any other object or into enclosures, unless invited and supervised by a qualified Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary staff member
The encounter may be cancelled at any time due to reasons beyond the control of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. To ensure the safety of guests and animals. Encounter rescheduling may be available in the case of this
You will be going into areas of the Sanctuary that are not normally accessed by guests, as such you must stay with your keeper and obey all instructions given. Failure to do so may result in the encounter being suspended
For your safety and the safety of our animals, the encounter will be stopped if participants fail to follow any safety instructions
If you have any allergies or anaphylaxis, please bring this to our attention before you book this experience. This experience involves food
As you are entering a behind the scenes precinct, no personal photography will be allowed
As part of our Biosecurity Management Plan all participating guests will be issued with an Animal Encounters Authorisation lanyard for the duration of any encounter by the hosting keeper. This is to be worn and displayed for the duration of the encounter.
• To be eligible to participate you must fulfil all criteria set out in our animal encounter guidelines
• Notify us of any health issues you may have that could affect the health of our animals and keepers
• Your behaviour affects the behaviour of our animals - please be respectful and follow all directions from the keeper hosting your encounter at all times
• Please wash your hands upon entering and exiting your animal encounter
