KOALA HIGH TEA TERMS AND CONDITIONS

EXPERIENCE COMPONENT
Children under the age of 3 may participate in the Experience free of charge however no food or photo component will be provided. The child must sit on a parent’s lap if seating is unavailable. Children must be supervised at all times during the Experience.

Appropriate enclosed footwear must be worn. Thongs are okay
In the event of inclement weather, suitable attire should be worn or purchased from the retail outlets.

Guests are asked to refrain from touching the Koalas unless invited and supervised by a qualified Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary staff member. The Experience may be cancelled at any time due to reasons beyond the control of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. This is to ensure the safety of guests and animals. In the event of the Experience being cancelled, rescheduling may occur where possible. If rescheduling is not possible, full or partial refund may be applicable and at the discretion of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.

For the safety of all guests and animals, the Experience may be stopped, and guests may be asked to leave if participants are not following all instructions given.

Guests will need to check in at Visitor Services by 2:15pm before heading to our Koala habitat area for a 2:30pm start.
Koala High Tea starts strictly at 2:30pm. Any guests that arrive late to the Experience will be accommodated to the best of our ability, however no extra time can be given at the end of the Experience. If guests are late to the Experience or miss the Experience altogether, rescheduling may be possible, however no refunds given.

As part of our Biosecurity Management Plan all participating guests will be issued with an Animal Encounters Authorisation lanyard for the duration of any encounter by the hosting keeper. This is to be worn and displayed for the duration of the encounter.

• To be eligible to participate you must fulfil all criteria set out in our animal encounter guidelines
• Notify us of any health issues you may have that could affect the health of our animals and keepers
• Your behaviour affects the behaviour of our animals - please be respectful and follow all directions from the keeper hosting your encounter at all times
• Please wash your hands upon entering and exiting your animal encounter

MEAL COMPONENT
It is important that all guests, including children remain seated during the meal component of the Experience. This is due to the safety and welfare of both animals and guests. No meal or drinks will be provided for guests under the age of 4. Add your dietary requirements at time of booking as the kitchen is unable to make any adjustments to orders placed

KOALA HOLD COMPONENT
Guests must be 140cm or taller and over 12 years of age to participate in a Koala hold. If the guest is not tall enough to participate, the keeper will hold the Koala and the guest can stand next to the Koala for the photo opportunity. Koalas will vary in size and therefore larger Koalas may be difficult for smaller guests to hold. As the Koalas are on a strict rotation, in alignment with Queensland legislation, it may not be possible for a smaller Koala to be used to accommodate younger guests. It is the discretion of the keeper present to determine if the participant can hold the Koala. In the event they are deemed unsuitable, the keeper will hold the Koala and the guest can stand next to the Koala for the photo opportunity
Any additional prints or digital copies can be purchases when collecting the prepaid photo
