I'm a Red Panda

Red Pandas live high up in the treetops of the Himalayas, where they love their alone time! They’re shy and like to keep to themselves.

In winter, they wrap their big, fluffy tails around themselves to stay warm, and their slow metabolism helps them survive when food is hard to find. Red Pandas have a taste for bamboo but also enjoy many other foods like fruit, roots, and eggs.

Over the past 20 years, Red Panda populations have declined by approximately 40%, primarily due to habitat loss and poaching.

These little climbers need our help, which is why we work hard on spreading awareness and protecting them.

Fun Fact

Red Pandas have caused some confusion. They were once thought to be related to giant pandas or raccoons, but now they’re known to be part of their own unique family called Ailuridae.
