Meet the Playful Nigerian Dwarf Goats

The Nigerian Dwarf Goats that call Outback Springs home are curious individuals and if they are ever unsure of something, they will bleat and a buddy will join them quite quickly.

They love a good morning scratch and help our keepers with husbandry tasks, inspecting the areas being cleaned and making sure they are up to the herds standards. All of the goats get on well as a herd; however, the twins (Mervyn, Fergus, Gary and Doug) have very special bonds with one another.

Each one of the goats has a distinct bleat- Mervyn's is the deepest out of all the goats whilst Herbert's sounds very child-like almost cheeky.

Four brown goats stand on mulch in a fenced outdoor pen, with a small barn and trees visible in the background.

Fun Fact

Nigerian Dwarf Goats produce a large amount of milk for their size, with a higher butterfat and protein content than other goats. Their milk is sweet tasting and popular.

A group of goats stands on wood chips inside a fenced outdoor enclosure with trees and a metal building in the background.
