Currumbin wildlife sanctuary
25 October 2018, half day or full day
At Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, we pride ourselves on educating the generations of the future about a wide range of environmental topics. From classification and habitats, to conservation, biodiversity and the interconnectedness of life, students have the opportunity to allow their minds to explore and expand into new concepts within this engaging environment. With two purpose built facilities for education, students can learn indoors and outdoors in our Discovery Den or Ngulli Nyeumba amphitheatre. From our interactive wildlife experiences, to Behind the Scenes Tour and Indigenous Experience, students have the opportunity to use their knowledge and their imagination in our immersive learning space. Last year, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary educated over 25,000 students from a wide range of backgrounds. As experts in environmental education, we know the best way to teach is to create integrated learning pathways. Depending on the lesson, we use a range of hands on experiences, and activities to encourage learning and fun!
On our Field Trip excursion, we would like to open our doors and showcase this to industry professionals who are interested in learning more about environmental education within the zoological industry.
With a full day and half day program available, participants will have the opportunity to be involved in both our outdoor classroom learning, and our hands on keeper learning techniques.
In our full day program, spend the morning learning about Environmental Education in Zoo’s, the principles and concepts, and its importance; before getting up close and personal with some of our favourite Australian native animals in our lessons. In the afternoon, join our enrichment making and keeping duties on our behind the scenes program to experience interactive learning at its best.
Our morning program concludes after our Australian animal lesson and includes the session about Environmental Education in Zoo’s
and our Animal lesson.
Please note that we must have a minimum of 10 participants to run the day. If we do not meet this number, full refunds will be provided.
