Help Keep Koalas Fed
Did you know a single Koala can eat the leaves of up to 1,000 gum trees every year? With more than 50 resident Koalas at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary – and hundreds more treated at Currumbin Wildlfie Hospital – the demand for fresh, nutritious eucalyptus leaves is enormous. Our fodder plantations currently house around 38,000 eucalyptus trees, but constant harvesting means they don’t last forever. To ensure there’s always enough food for future generations of Koalas, we need to keep planting – and you can help.
