IS THE EVENT COVID SAFE?

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is currently operating under an independently approved COVID-safe plan specifically for the Sanctuary. Secondary to this we will operate this years FestEvil at the FanGtuary in accordance with a COVID Safe Events Checklist. We ask that If you have been asked to self-isolate, please do not come to our Sanctuary. If you have cold or flu symptoms, we ask that you delay your visit until you are well again.

2021 FestEvil at the FanGtuary event has been designed with COVID Regulations in mind. Due to current regulations, we have designed the footprint in a mostly one-way direction. Upon entry includes a ride on the Ghost Train for each guest to access the Western Reserve (Wild Asylum Stattion). Trains will be departing Wild Asylum Station for return trips to the exit from 7 pm each night.

 

HOW DO I CHECK IN ON THE NIGHT OF THE EVENT?

Entry to this year’s event is through the Rainforest Bar & Sanctuary Café. Once you have neared your allotted ticket time please follow the signage at the bottom of the ramp near the main entry gates which will direct you to the queue line.

For our VIP Ticket Holders, as you come through the Rainforest Bar & Sanctuary Café, your Special VIP Zone will be located on the Upper Deck to the left. This is where you can Check In and receive your lanyard, showbag and VIP Face painting. In the case of inclement weather Check in will occur in the Lorikeet room (to the left of the normal VIP zone). VIP hampers will be ready for collection from ZONE 2 Wild Asylum.

Tickets are electronic - we will scan tickets straight off your phone screen as you show it to us on entry.

 

WHEN CAN I ARRIVE?

Again this year, we have check in timeslots allotted. Please do not attend until your nominated session time as shown on your tickets. If you arrive early you will be directed to enjoy the facilities at the Sanctuary Café/ Bar and Sanctuary Markets. Families & children will have plenty of time to enjoy the event up until 8.30pm.

 

CAN I GET A PASS OUT?

Due to COVID Regulations and for the safety of our guests we encourage guests to remain within the event space. If there is a need for a pass out, please approach the nearest team member towards the check in counter who will guide you on the process. If you require a pass out, please be mindful of social distancing requirements and guests queueing for the event.

 

WHAT ARE THE EVENT HOURS?

Things are a little different this year with check in timeslots allotted. Please do not attend until your nominated session time as shown on your tickets. Families & children will have a few hours of spooky fun to enjoy the Sanctuary up until 8.30pm closing time.

 

IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE? HOW MUCH IS IT?

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has a dedicated car park on Tomewin Street which is open for use for the event. Parking is FREE from 3pm on the event day.

 

WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE THERE AT FESTEVIL AT THE FANGTUARY?

There’s a bunch of fang-tastic activities for kids (and the kids at heart) to get in on. On the downloadable park map you will notice we have (4) four zones of fun filled spookiness!

Zone 1: Haunted House

Featuring Haunted House, Nocturnal Zone, 1st Trick or Treat station, Ghost Train Station and Photo Opportunity.

Zone 2: Wild Asylum

Wild Island Adventure Playground, Wild Things Candy Store, Wild Asylum Burgers and VIP Hamper Pickup, Ghost Train Station, 2nd Trick or Treats station, First Aid, Information & Lost Children.

Zone 3: Monster Mash

DJ & Best Dressed Competition, Roving Entertainment, Inflatable Obstacle Course and Monster Mash Eatery + Zombie Bar.

Zone 4: Zombie Swamp

Alfresco Dining, Roving Entertainment and 3rd Trick or Treats station + EXIT by foot back to Main Entry.

 

IS THERE TRICK OR TREAT STATIONS?

We worked hard to offer all the goodies to the little ones this year; we have (3) three Trick or Treat Stations available (Zone 1, Zone 2 and Zone 4). Be sure to get your card stamped.

 

WILL THERE BE ANY AUDIO, VISUAL OR STROBE EFFECTS?

Some locations make use of visual and audio effects, including strobe lights and may not be suitable for guests with a history of vertigo, epilepsy, seizures, claustrophobia, heart disorders and high blood pressure. If you require any assistance, please approach the nearest staff member- we are here to help!

 

CAN YOU SEE THE ANIMALS DURING FESTEVIL?

Some of our animals will be fast asleep; however, you might get a sneak peek at our wildlife in Zone 1 of the Nocturnal Zone, but you will have to be quiet shhhhh.

 

CAN MY CHILDREN WEAR FACE MASKS OR COSTUMES?

Absolutely! You are welcome to wear costumes and facial make-up.

VIP Child Ticket Holders - face painting is included; please meet at the deck at the entrance of the Rainforest Bar & Sanctuary Café, where you pick up all VIP items or in the Lorikeet room end of Sanctuary Café if inclement weather.

General Admission Ticket Holders - face painting is available for $10 on the night, but you must be quick time slots will fill fast! We will advise when sold out!

There are prizes for the best dressed little ghosts and witches at our DJ Zone! No dangerous items, laser pointers or weapons may be brought into Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.

 

ARE THERE PARENT'S ROOMS AVAILABLE?

Family-friendly bathrooms are in the Zone 2 Wild Asylum next to the Information desk.

 

WILL THERE BE FOOD AVAILABLE IN THE SANCTUARY?

Fuel up for the night's terror-ific antics with a bite and a bevvy at the Sanctuary Markets on Friday night, open from 4-9 pm; it's here you can sink your fangs into a yummy feast of street food eats with plenty to choose from. On Friday, Saturday & Sunday our Sanctuary Café will be open, along with food stalls, pop up bars & a full blackboard menu available from ZONE 2 and 3.

Zone 2 - Wild Asylum

Wild Asylum Burgers will be operating within the Sanctuary, plus this is the access point for VIP Hamper Pickups.

Our Wild Things Candy Store will be fully operational and stocked with loads of candy & ice cream options for the sweet tooth.

Zone 3 - Monster Mash

Monster Mash Eatery will offer street-style food and alcoholic drinks, soft drinks and water at the Zombie Bar.

 

CAN I BRING FOOD AND DRINKS INTO THE SANCTUARY?

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a fully licensed venue. No BYO alcohol is permitted.

We understand some little ones have food requirements; home packed goodies are permitted however commercial food will not be allowed at the event.

 

IF IT IS RAINING WILL FESTEVIL STILL GO AHEAD?

FestEvil at the FanGtuary will continue in wet weather.

Please note that during lightning & severe thunderstorms Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary may temporarily stop some activities until safe to operate.

 

ARE STROLLERS ALLOWED INTO THE EVENT?

Strollers, wheelchairs and walking aids are certainly allowed at the event. Please contact us if you require any assistance.

 

CAN I SMOKE AT THE EVENT?

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary promotes a no-smoking policy. Smoking or vaping whilst inside the park is strictly prohibited.
