Celebrate the Sanctuary’s special feathered friends with a week full of flocking fun activities for all ages! From 20th to 26th of October, get involved with daily expert-led workshops, educational tours, kids activities and local feather-inspired art. There’s something for everyone to enjoy and learn during National Bird Week!
All special activities are included in your Day Ticket. Free for members.

Owl Be There – Will You?
Swoop on in! When you visit us any day from 20 – 26 Oct, you can get involved with some flockin’ feathered fun. As we celebrate National Bird Week, we will have daily activities, workshops and tours where you can get close up to the many stunning bird species that call the Sanctuary home, and learn what you can do to help protect them. There will also be fun activities for the little ones, including colouring-in and a feathery fun game with a sweet prize upon completion. Just pick up your game card when you arrive and return the completed card to our Visitor & Member Services booth before 4pm to get your sweet prize!

FAQ’s
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is open from 9am to 4pm every day, except ANZAC Day (April 25) and Christmas Day (December 25). Last admissions at 3.30pm daily.
Astra Lumina is open from Wednesday to Saturday with the first sessions starting after dark, which depends on the season.
The Lorikeet feeding is held daily at 8am and 4pm.
The Sanctuary will remain open in light rain. In case of severe weather events, a decision may be made to close the Sanctuary in the interest of guest, animal and staff safety. Our team closely monitors weather and you will be informed if you have purchased a ticket and we have to close due to unsafe weather.
Some activities and/or presentations may be delayed or cancelled in wet weather.
