Do you have a teen that loves animals and dreams about working with them someday? This is for them! Teens can get a real-life insight into zookeeping or learn about what it takes to care for some of Australia’s unique mammal species. Check-in is at 8am. Please ensure your teen brings a water bottle and lunch, and wears closed in shoes, comfortable clothes and a hat.

Insight into Zookeeping

Do you have a keen interest in wildlife and want a real zoo experience? This program gives you a hands-on insight into what it's like working in the zoo industry. It's a terrific introduction to Certificate 2 in Animal Care!
You will be exposed to animal husbandry, animal conditioning, enrichment making, exhibit design, animal observations and record keeping.
This program is no longer available.
*Please note, animal handling is not included as it requires formal qualifications. This program will show you what zookeepers actually do on a daily basis.
