Teens will complete the day with great insights into a career in wildlife and ready to take the next step in a Certificate in Animal Care!

- Animal cooperative care. Learn why animal conditioning is important for animals in cooperative care and practice some of the techniques we use at the Sanctuary.
- Enrichment making. Create enrichment items for one of the animals and observe as they interact with them, which plays an important role in keeping them happy and safe.
- Habitat design. Learn about the many considerations that go into habitat design to ensure they meet the needs of the animals, the keepers and our guests.
- Animal observations and record keeping. Learn how to perform an observation and report back to the keeper team, an important part of animal care.
What to bring & wear
Please ensure your teen brings a hat, water bottle and packed lunch as food is not provided during this program.
Your teen must wear closed in shoes that are comfortable to walk in, plus comfortable sun-safe clothes that may get dirty as part of the activities we are completing. We recommend that they apply sun cream and insect repellent before arriving at the program.
