Wildlife Hospital Volunteers

Already a Volunteer?

Do you have a BIG heart?

Currumbin Wildlife Hospital is a property of National Trust of Australia (Queensland) which has grown to be one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world, admitting over 16,000 animals a year – a service that is provided free of charge to the community. It is imperative that we can continue to treat, rehabilitate, and release wildlife and we could not do the work we do without the help of our wonderful and dedicated volunteers.

Volunteering at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital requires dedication and a big heart. We seek individuals with a positive attitude, able to commit to a minimum 6-month, weekly volunteer program. Volunteers must be 18 or older, have moderate fitness, and be comfortable working around animals, dust, and surgical procedures. Roles include hospital reception, animal rehabilitation, wildlife ward, animal kitchen, animal ambulance, and more.

Volunteers assist with tasks like laundry, phone calls, cleaning habitats, and supporting veterinary staff. Applications open and close based on availability, so check here regularly for updates.
