Currumbin’s Newest Arrivals Are Coming
Friday – Sunday, 18 – 20 Sep 2026 I Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Mark your calendar: There are two brand-new reasons to visit, all in one trip. Two Quokkas are soon to arrive, and you’re invited to watch them make themselves at home for the first time. There will be plenty of family-friendly activities and even a trip to Rottnest Island for two people up for grabs. It’s also your chance to check out Raptor Ridge, the new home for the Sanctuary’s Owls and Wedge-tailed Eagles.
All included in your Day Pass. Free for members.

About This Weekend
From 18 – 20 Sep, you get the chance to be one of the first to see the two Quokkas in their brand-new habitat, Quokka Nook.
We will celebrate their arrival with daily pop-up activations, Wildlife Keeper chats, face painting and a kids’ colouring competition. You will also get to suggest what we should name the Quokkas, going into the draw to win a trip for two to Rottnest Island, one of the only places in the world where you’ll find over ten thousand Quokkas roaming free! National Trust Queensland members also enjoy something extra special, including free keyrings and Quok-tails (cocktails).
While you’re here, make sure you also check out Raptor Ridge, our other brand-new precinct where you can step into the world of Owls and Wedge-tailed Eagles.
See below for details and full schedule!
